Birthday Roses
For my Mum's birthday I made a card with tea roses on. This was the first time I tried making roses by folding quilling paper, and I have to admit it is easier than you might think.
To make this card I used:
1. A 13.5 cm (folded size) white card and matching envelope from the Docrafts Anita's Square Card and Envelope set.
2. Docrafts Papermania - Mini Ink Pads (dye based).
3. A "Happy Birthday" stamp.
4. A pair of scissors.
5. 3 mm paper strips in green and 5 mm paper strips in orange.
6. Paper glue.
7. A few white double-sided sticky pads with dimensions 5 mm x 5 mm and 2 mm thickness.
To make the card roll each of the green paper strips into a loose coil and pinch it at the end, forming a drop. In total I made 23 drops, from which I glued 12 into pairs forming six bigger leaves. Make the roses using orange paper strips, folding them as shown (for example) here. I made four big roses and five smaller ones. Arrange the roses and leaves on the card and secure them with glue. Cut the sentiment out from the white paper and using sticky pads attach it to the card. That's it.
Have fun creating!
